The chromogenic substrate pEPR-pNA has been used for the determination of kinetic constants of tryptase (EC 3·4·21·59) from guinea pig (Km = 0·24 - 0·26 mM) and human (Km = 0·24 - 0·43 mM)· Pyr-Pro-Arg-pNA has also been used as substrate for the coagulation factor XIa· Km and kcat values for this substrate were 0·56 mM and 350 s?¹, respectively
