A selective fluorogenic (FRET) matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) substrate· The kcat/Km value for MMP-3 (Stromelysin-1) is 29·000 M⁻¹s⁻¹, for MMP-13 13·000 M⁻¹s⁻¹, and for MMP-9 7·500 M⁻¹s⁻¹ (at pH 7·5, 25 °C)· The fluorescence increase is monitored using an excitation wavelength of 360 nm and an emission wavelength of 490 nm· No activity against this substrate could be measured with MMP1, MMP-7, and MMP-8 (kcat/Km < 1000 M⁻¹s⁻¹)
