Recombinant Human Galectin-8(LGALS8) (Active)

Recombinant Human Galectin-8(LGALS8) (Active) (catalogue number AP78306) is a e.coli-derived recombinant protein. It targets Galectin-8 (LGALS8): Beta-galactoside-binding lectin that acts as a sensor of membrane damage caused by infection and restricts the proliferation of infecting pathogens by targeting them for autophagy. Supplied as 1mg at ₪7,040.21; the final price is confirmed on your quote and the lot certificate of analysis ships with the order.

Target background

Target: Galectin-8 (LGALS8) · Homo sapiens

Beta-galactoside-binding lectin that acts as a sensor of membrane damage caused by infection and restricts the proliferation of infecting pathogens by targeting them for autophagy. Detects membrane rupture by binding beta-galactoside ligands located on the lumenal side of the endosome membrane; these ligands becoming exposed to the cytoplasm following rupture. Restricts infection by initiating autophagy via interaction with CALCOCO2/NDP52. Required to restrict infection of bacterial invasion such as S.typhimurium. Also required to restrict infection of Picornaviridae viruses.

Subcellular location: Cytoplasmic vesicle; Cytoplasm, cytosol

Tissue specificity: Ubiquitous. Selective expression by prostate carcinomas versus normal prostate and benign prostatic hypertrophy

Sequence length: 317 aa · 35808 Da
