TAT-DEF-Elk-1 (TDE) is a cell-penetrating peptide inhibitor of Elk-1 that mimics and specifically interferes with the DEF domain of Elk-1 to achieve inhibition· TAT-DEF-Elk-1 prevents phosphorylation of Elk-1 and prevents nuclear translocation of Elk-1, without interfering with ERK or MSK1 activation· TAT-DEF-Elk-1 is a useful tool for analyzing the role of Elk-1 in neuronal plasticity development processes
