Chemical structure of Pulcherriminic acid

GC69778

Pulcherriminic acid

Also known as 1,5-dihydroxy-3,6-bis(2-methylpropyl)-4-oxidopyrazin-4-ium-2-one

Pulcherriminic acid is a cyclic dipeptide antibacterial agent with high affinity for Fe3+ and is mainly found in Bacillus and yeast· Pulcherriminic acid chelates iron ions through non-enzymatic reactions, forming extracellular red pigment pulcherrimin, competing for iron nutrition, thereby achieving antibacterial effects· Pulcherriminic acid has great application value in industries such as food, agriculture, and medicine
