Also known as (2S)-2-(9H-fluoren-9-ylmethoxycarbonylamino)-4-[[1-(2-hydroxy-4,4-dimethyl-6-oxocyclohexen-1-yl)-3-methylbutylidene]amino]butanoic acid

The ivDde group can be cleaved selectively with 2% hydrazine hydrate in DMF· It is more stable towards the repetitve piperidine treatment during Fmoc-SPPS than Dde· ivDde has been applied in de Visser's synthesis of the Dab-rich cyclopeptide antibiotic polymyxin B1 and analogs
