Regulates voltage-gated potassium channels, thereby modulating hyperpolarizing potassium currents in neurons and inducing potassium-dependent membrane hyperpolarization. Also regulates the neuronal glutamine transporter SLC38A2/SAT2, influencing neurotransmitter precursor availability.
