Acts on 6-amino and 6-oxopurines including deoxyinosine, deoxyguanosine, deoxyadenosine, adenosine, guanosine, and inosine. Does not act on xanthosine (Probable). May also catalyze a phosphate-dependent transfer of the pentose moiety from one purine base to another
