GZMK is specifically secreted by CD8(+) T-cells and mediates both recognition and initiation steps of GZMK complement pathway. First acts as a pattern recognition receptor, which specifically recognizes and binds heparan sulfate glycosaminoglycans on the pathogen surface to drive opsonization.
