Essential for proper embryonic skeletal development by regulating chondrocyte survival through dephosphorylation of FOXO3. By maintaining FOXO3 in its active, dephosphorylated form, inhibits excessive apoptosis of chondrocytes, which is essential for normal endochondral ossification and cartilage formation
